Wow – we had an amazing Mother’s Day this past Sunday!  We had 17 families participate in Baby/Child Dedication (we have another Baby/Child Dedication coming up Father’s Day).  We had lots and lots of guests!  And we had 1166 people in attendance (and another 804 online)!  The first picture above is our Gathering Space in between services!  I sent that picture to our Facilities Manager, Ricky Spell, with the caption, “We’re going to need a bigger boat!”  Between the Flower Bar, the Photo Booth, the T-Shirt, Kona Ice, the Give-aways, and the service itself – I hope every woman walked out of Coastal on Sunday feeling special and BEAUTIFUL!  Oh, and speaking of Beautiful, if you’re wondering who was the mastermind behind our Photo Booth & Flower Bar – it was April Price.  Thanks David & April for using your gifts and talents for the Kingdom!

I am seriously excited about all the awesome things happening at Coastal this Summer – the biggest of which is Summer of IMPACT (see below)!  If you and your family haven’t yet signed up for multiple projects, it’s time to do so!  And I seriously encourage you to spread the word with your friends, neighbors, family, and co-workers, especially those people in your life who don’t have a church or who aren’t even believers.  Why?  Because God created everyone with the desire to be a part of something bigger than yourself and to make a difference.  And believe it or not, most churches don’t have a very good reputation for serving and loving their communities unconditionally.  So leverage Summer of IMPACT as a way to include those who might not darken the door of a church yet, but would be willing to volunteer in the community.  Don’t you see?  Not only is Summer of IMPACT an opportunity to serve and bless our community and you, but it is also an opportunity for outreach!  If you have any questions, please reach out to Pastor Chris Jones at 843-870-4613.

This Sunday, Coastal is taking 800 people to the Charleston Riverdogs Game!  We only have approximately 20 tickets left to give away – so reach out to Pastor Scott at scotth@coastalcommunitychurch.org with your name and how many tickets you need – first come-first serve!

Another reason I’m excited about the Summer here at Coastal is that on Sunday, June 11th, we kick off one of our favorite sermon series traditions here at Coastal – “AT THE MOVIES”!  It’s where we take current or popular movies and use them as a hook to talk about spiritual truth.  ALL 1st Time Guests (and the person who invited them – YOU) will receive a FREE Movie Ticket to Citadel Mall Theater throughout the entire series!  More about that later, but for now, mark June 11th on your calendar, and start praying about who you will be inviting and bringing to church!  Between all of this, plus Beach Baptism (see below), Father’s Day, VBS (see below), Camp, our “Summer Reading” series, and a Missions Trip to Peru, it’s going to be a Summer to remember.  Make the most of all of it!  I love you Coastal!  I love being your Pastor.  And I love what we get to do together!  See you on Sunday!

LIFE & LOVE!
Pastor Chris

SUMMER OF IMPACT:  Summer of IMPACT is the entire month of June!  Go to our website and start signing up TODAY (see below)! https://coastalcommunitychurch.org/missions/

As always, if you are interested in serving in any of these projects, you can sign up on your Connect Card this Sunday or sign up now on our website.  If you have any questions, please reach out to Pastor Chris Jones at 843-870-4613.
  2. Summer of IMPACT is now less than 2 weeks away!  If you are fairly new to Coastal, Summer of IMPACT is a month-long effort (the entire month of June) where we as a church saturate our community with the love of Jesus through simple acts of service.  It’s basically what we do all throughout the year, but MULTIPLIED during the month of June (over 40 different projects)!  There is something for everyone (including children).  There are opportunities nearly every day of the month. You simply sign-up and then show-up.  It’s that easy.  Every project has a leader and every project is well-organized.

So here’s what I am asking you to do RIGHT NOW:

    Click on this link: https://coastalcommunitychurch.org/missions/

Take a look at all the opportunities. Find the project(s) right for you and then sign up! You can sign up for as many opportunities as you want directly from our website.  And by the way, you don’t even have to call Coastal your home to participate! Invite and bring your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers to serve!  If you are looking to make an IMPACT in our community, this is the way to do it!
  3. Drivers Wanted!  The Coastal Van travels to Charleston Vets and Patriot Villas every Sunday to pick up veterans who want to attend services at Coastal. These veterans, without volunteers behind the wheel, would not have the transportation to attend church. We’re looking for drivers. If you are willing to sacrifice an hour of your time for the veterans we serve, we’d love to hear from you. Two serving opportunities are available each week. The first shift is from 8:30 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. taking the van from Coastal to Charleston Vets and Patriot Villas to pick-up the vets for the 10am service. The second shift is from 11:00 a.m. until noon transporting the vets back to Charleston Vets and Patriot Villas. If you’d be interested in serving on the team, please reach out to Pastor Chris Jones at chrisjones@coastalcommunitychurch.org.
  4. Interested in officially making the Coastal church family, your church family? Our next Membership Class is THIS Monday evening, May 22nd, 6pm-8:45pm in the Chapel. You can respond to this email, sign up on our website, or sign up on your Connect Card on Sunday.  Dinner & childcare provided!
  5. We are planning our Annual BEACH BAPTISM out at Folly Beach County Park on Sunday, June 11th, at 5pm.  You can sign up for it on our website.  The only requirement for Baptism is that you have personally given your life to Jesus.  Baptism is a public profession of your faith, and it’s a great celebration!  It beautifully illustrates Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection.  If you’re unable to participate in our Beach Baptism, remember at Coastal we’re ready for you to get Baptized any service, any Sunday.  If you are interested in getting Baptized, simply respond to this email, sign up on your Connect Card, or sign up on our website.

P.S. Attention Coastal –  VBS is only 7 weeks away – July 10th-14th, 6-8:15pm each night, for children 4 years old – 5th Grade!  This year’s theme is a Space Theme and Astronaut Joe (pictured above) can’t wait to see you and your friends!  You can start registering your children now!  You can also start signing up to serve at VBS!

P.S.S. Our Youth Pastor, Jacob Bonetti, has an exciting announcement for Coastal Student Ministry this Fall!  Go to their Instagram page to check it out and see their Summer Calendar. If you have any questions, please reach out to Jacob at jacob@coastalcommunitychurch.org.
