Alright everyone – this Sunday, May 14th, is Mother’s Day!  It’s going to be a BIG DAY at Coastal!  And when I say, “BIG DAY”, you should instinctively know what that means.  It means you pull out all the stops and leverage this weekend for the Kingdom!  It means you come early, park far away, and go out of your way to make our guests feel welcome and at home.  And speaking of guests – it means you invite and bring your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers!

It really IS going to be a fun day!  We have a gift for all women (not just moms), a fun giveaways at the end of each service (SPA PACKAGE), a photo booth, a Flower Bar (make your own flower bouquet), Baby/Child Dedication during each service, and FREE Kona Ice for everyone!  And Ladies, my message is all about how God sees you as BEAUTIFUL!

A BIG DAY also means, “all hands on deck” for our Volunteers!  The second picture above is all of our First Impressions & Prayer Team Volunteer Lanyards!  We have so many Volunteers in First Impressions alone that we had to create this new space (behind the black buffet line/hallway in the kitchen).  But don’t think for a second that now that our 6 Easter Weekend services have come and gone that the need for Volunteers isn’t as great anymore.  Not at all!  In fact, now with 3 services EACH Sunday, the consistent need is even greater!  In fact, this Sunday with gift giveaways, Photo Booth, and Flower Bar we need even MORE First Impressions Volunteers than normal!  If you’re already on the Team, go to Planning Center and sign up to serve.  Or reach out to Pastor Scott Huff and sign up today!  You can also text him at 859-230-5129.

That’s true for all of our other Sunday morning LIFE Teams as well – Coastal Kidz, Cafe, Prayer Team, Security, Online Engagement, and Production.  If you’ve served in the past, but it’s been a while, it’s time to serve again.  If you currently serve, will be in town this weekend, but haven’t signed up for this Sunday – go to Planning Center or reach out to your LIFE Team Leader and sign up today!  If you’re new to Coastal and wondering if there is a need or if we have room for you,  the answer is a resounding, “YES!”  Go to our website, choose a place to serve, and sign up today!  And by the way, the best recruiters for serving are not Pastors, emails, or announcements!  It’s those of YOU who currently serve and know the joy and fulfillment that comes from serving!  Reach out to someone who is currently not serving on Sunday morning and get them to join your Team!  I love you Coastal!  I love being your Pastor!  I love what we get to do TOGETHER!  And I can’t wait to see you over the weekend (Double Tailgate Saturday & Mother’s Day)!

LIFE & LOVE!
Pastor Chris

  2. Summer of IMPACT is just around the corner!  If you are fairly new to Coastal, Summer of IMPACT is a month-long effort (the entire month of June) where we as a church saturate our community with the love of Jesus through simple acts of service.  It’s basically what we do all throughout the year, but MULTIPLIED during the month of June (over 40 different projects)!  There is something for everyone (including children).  There are opportunities nearly every day of the month. You simply sign-up and then show-up.  It’s that easy.  Every project has a leader and every project is well-organized.

So here’s what I am asking you to do RIGHT NOW:

    Click on this link: https://coastalcommunitychurch.org/missions/

Take a look at all the opportunities. Find the project(s) right for you and then sign up! You can sign up for as many opportunities as you want directly from our website.  And by the way, you don’t even have to call Coastal your home to participate! Invite and bring your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers to serve!  If you are looking to make an IMPACT in our community, this is the way to do it!
  3. Coastal Day at the Riverdogs!  Join us on Sunday, May 21 at 5pm at Joe Riley Park for the Charleston Riverdogs Baseball Game. Tickets are FREE (our Gift to YOU) and will be distributed digitally (you MUST have an email to receive the tickets). Parking at the stadium is also FREE on that day.  Please submit your name, email, and number of tickets on your Connect Card OR by simply emailing Pastor Scott at scotth@coastalcommunitychurch.org.  We only have approximately 50 tickets left to give away (we’re capping it at 800) – so first come-first serve!
  4. Interested in officially making the Coastal church family, your church family? Our next Membership Class is Monday evening, May 22nd, 6pm-8:45pm. You can respond to this email, sign up on our website, or sign up on your Connect Card on Sunday.  Dinner & childcare provided!
  5. We are planning our Annual BEACH BAPTISM out at Folly Beach County Park on Sunday, June 11th, at 5pm.  You can sign up for it on our website.  The only requirement for Baptism is that you have personally given your life to Jesus.  Baptism is a public profession of your faith, and it’s a great celebration!  It beautifully illustrates Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection.  If you’re unable to participate in our Beach Baptism, remember at Coastal we’re ready for you to get Baptized any service, any Sunday.  If you are interested in getting Baptized, simply respond to this email, sign up on your Connect Card, or sign up on our website.

P.S. Coastal VBS – July 10th-14th, 6-8:15pm each night, for children 4 years old – 5th Grade!  This year’s theme is a Space Theme!  You can start registering your children now!  You can also start signing up to serve at VBS!

P.S.S. There is a family from our church (Dan & Susan Neidhardt) who have developed a heart for the people of Ukraine and the refugee crisis there. In fact, they currently have two mothers and their sons from the Ukraine living with them. They have been with them for 2 months now, and it has been a greatly rewarding experience. You might have met them at church. They have recently been in touch with another woman who will be coming to the States and needs a place to stay temporarily while they look for more permanent housing. The woman comes from the Cherkasy region, which has been under recent attacks. Her parents are farmers and just want her safe. Dan & Susan have talked to her. She is educated and understands English. They are simply trying to get the word out and see if anyone has a room or apartment she can use temporarily. If you are interested in learning more about how you might help, please feel free to reach out to Dan & Susan directly at 843-442-3695.
