This weekend, of course, marks the beginning of “Summer of IMPACT”! Yesterday we had teams of Volunteers SERVING at Neighbor’s Together and SEWING at the church. Neighbors Together provides assistance, resources, and food to the homeless in our community. And then the sewing volunteers are making blankets for the babies at the NICU at East Cooper Hospital and comforters for the Sleep In Heavenly Peace Beds. Between those projects and the ones today and during Saturday Serve tomorrow, we’re kicking off SOI with 12 projects this weekend alone! But we’re just getting started! There’s still plenty of different projects left. One great opportunity tomorrow is Saturday Serve! We meet at the church at 8:30am, hear a “pitch” from the leaders of the different projects that day, pray, and then you pick what you want to do and go serve. It’s THAT easy! And it’s the backbone of all our serving at Coastal. We would love to see you in the morning! The June Saturday Serve is basically a big pep rally for SOI!
Also, don’t forget that we kick-off “AT THE MOVIES” next Sunday, June 11th! “At the Movies” is where we take current or popular movies and use them as a hook to talk about spiritual truth. ALL 1st Time Guests will receive FREE Movie Tickets to Citadel Mall Theater (and the person who invited them – YOU) throughout the entire series. There will be popcorn, movie trailers, a photo booth, and cool giveaways! Make sure you pick up the microwave popcorn invite tool this weekend to invite your friends to the series. As a part of the series, we’re also taking anyone who is available to see the new Little Mermaid movie on Wednesday, July 5th, 10am at the Citadel Mall Theater! Saturday Serve – The foundation of all of our serving opportunities at Coastal really starts with Saturday Serve – the first Saturday of every month. The next Saturday Serve is tomorrow, Saturday, June 3rd. We meet in the Welcome Center/Cafe at 8:30am, project leaders make a “pitch” for their serving opportunity, and then we serve!

VA Hospitality Project: This team serves at the VA Hospital in Charleston by providing a hospitality cart, greeting incoming patients and employees, visiting patients, and helping Volunteer Services with small sorting projects. Wednesday, June 7th, 8:30am-12pm. Meet at Coastal.
Neighbors Together Project: Help serve the homeless or those at risk in our community. Meet at 2105 Cosgrove Ave. Thursday, June 8th, 10am-1pm.
Summer Sewing Project: Join us as we make quilts for the “Sleep in Heavenly Peace” bunk beds and for the NICU at East Cooper Medical Center. All sewing levels welcome – beginners to veterans! Thursday, June 8th, 6-8pm.
Ronald McDonald House On the Go Meal Bags: On Thursday, June 8th, 6:30-7:30pm, we will be packing “On the Go Meal/Snack Bags” for the resident of the Ronald McDonald House. Meet at Coastal.
Coffee & Doughnuts with the Vets at Patriot Villas – Friday, June 9th, 8:30am-11am. Meet at Coastal.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Pastor Chris Jones at 843-870-4613. - Summer of IMPACT Project Highlight: Soldier’s Angels – All of our SOI projects (see above) are important, but each week we’re going to highlight one. On Tuesday, June 6th, 8am-1pm, we’ll be helping Soldier’s Angels and their Veteran’s Mobile Food Distribution. We have been serving with Soldiers Angels now for 4 years! This Tuesday will be extra special in that our church is actually sponsoring this month’s event. In other words, we paid for the food that will be distributed to the 200+ Veterans (your generous, consistent giving makes that possible)! Yes, it’s during the week, yes, it will take up half your day, and yes, it will be hot. But, YES, you better believe that you will receive far more than you will give! So if you’re able and available, sign up today! Meet at 1113 Sam Rittenburg Blvd. (The Elks Lodge).
- Don’t miss Father’s Day this year at Coastal, Sunday, June 18th! We’ll have a fun gift for all the men, giveaways at the end of each service, and FREE Kona Ice. We’re also having another Baby/Child Dedication on Father’s Day. If you would like your family to participate, sign up on your Connect Card this Sunday OR sign up online. Include the child’s full name and the service you will be attending.
- If you’re fairly new to Coastal, a great next step is our Newcomers Reception. Our next Newcomers Reception is Sunday, June 25th, in our Chapel immediately following the 11:30am service (at approximately 12:45pm). This is a great way to learn more about Coastal, meet staff and key volunteers, as well as meet some other new people. Pizza and childcare provided. You can sign up on our website today!
- We are planning our Annual BEACH BAPTISM out at Folly Beach County Park on Sunday, June 11th, at 5pm. You can sign up for it on our website. The only requirement for Baptism is that you have personally given your life to Jesus. Baptism is a public profession of your faith, and it’s a great celebration! It beautifully illustrates Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. If you’re unable to participate in our Beach Baptism, remember at Coastal we’re ready for you to get Baptized any service, any Sunday.
