So, have you signed up for a LIFE Group yet? If you haven’t heard, we have unveiled our 2024 Spring Semester LIFE Group Catalog! And just like college, your favorite classes (LIFE Groups) will fill up fast! Some, in fact, have already reached capacity. So, go to our website right now, check out all the different Groups and sign up today. Most of our Groups start the week of February 18th. Now, I can already hear some of your excuses. And here is the biggest one of all. “But Pastor Chris, I just don’t have the time for a LIFE Group. I’m too busy.” Please hear this with all the love I can muster. You have time to do whatever it is you value – tv, social media, sports, hobbies. It’s just not that important to you yet. So, as we move into the New Year, think about what matters most in this life (your spiritual life, community), let that determine your values and priorities, and in turn let those values and priorities set or reset the habits and routines of your life. I promise, it’s a decision you won’t regret!
Next Sunday, February 11th, is LIFE Group Sunday! Before and after each service you’ll be able to check out all the Groups offered this semester, browse the tables in the Welcome Center representing those Groups, meet the different Group Leaders, and ask any questions you might have! It’s a BIG Day here at Coastal and a LOT of fun! Invite and bring a friend and don’t miss it!
And then the following Sunday, February 18th, we kick off what I believe is going to be a LIFE CHANGING series here at Coastal! We’re going to do some things during this series that we’ve never done before. The series is called, “Financial Freedom!” And before you freak out, thinking, “Oh no, a series on money! I knew it! The church just wants my money!” First of all, if you really feel that way about the Lord and about our church, keep your money. We don’t want it, and God doesn’t want it either. God wants what it represents – your heart. And if you’re not a joyful, generous giver, God doesn’t have your heart. Let’s just be honest with each other. Our world is in a financial mess! Families are in a financial mess and are falling apart. The world’s way just doesn’t work. But God’s way does! So let’s take this issue back! Let’s boldly proclaim God’s word and help people honor God with their finances, break the chains of materialism, get out of debt, and leave a legacy for future generations!
Here are some of the things that will happen during the series. Beginning February 18th, we’re going to give away all of Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace resources for FREE! We’re going to give them away to you AND anyone you bring to Coastal! Oh and speaking of Financial Peace and LIFE Groups – we actually have a Financial Peace LIFE Group this semester (Monday nights, 6:30pm beginning February 19th)! Go online and sign up today! On Sunday, February 25th, we’re giving away $1000 in each service to help someone pay down their debt. On Sunday afternoon, March 3rd, we’re hosting a FREE Will & Legacy Planning Seminar with an Attorney to answer any of your questions. During the seminar we’re giving away a Will Package from the Attorney for FREE (a $1500 value)! During all 3 services on Sunday, March 10th, we’ll be giving away thousands of dollars in something called a “reverse offering.” People will literally be taking envelopes of money out of the blue offering buckets and then encouraged to use the money as “seeds” to creatively bless someone in our community (we’ll explain it during the series). WOW! Like I said, it’s going to be a series like no other!! Chains are going to be broken, marriages are going to be healed, and lives are going to be forever changed! I love you Coastal! I love getting to be your Pastor! And I love changing the world with you!

Coffee & Doughnuts with the Vets at Patriot Villas – TODAY, Friday, February 2nd, 8:30am-11:30am. Meet at Coastal.
Clothing Team: Our Coastal Clothing Team will be organizing and sorting clothes, TODAY, Friday, February 2nd; Monday, February 5th; Friday, February 9th; Monday, February 12th, all dates 9:30am-11:30am. Meet at 2952 Old Pond Road on Johns Island.
Saturday Serve: The foundation of all of our serving opportunities at Coastal really starts with Saturday Serve – the first Saturday of every month. The next Saturday Serve is tomorrow, Saturday, February 3rd. We meet in the Welcome Center/Cafe at 8:30am, project leaders make a “pitch” for their serving opportunity, and then we serve!
Blood Drive: Tomorrow on Saturday, February 3rd, 8:30am-1:30pm (during Saturday Serve), our church is hosting a Blood Drive! The Blood Connection mobile truck will be in our parking lot.
Food Pantry Sort & Stock: Coastal feeds an enormous amount of people. Come to the church and help keep our Food Pantry organized (and have a lot of fun while you’re at it)! Thursday, February 8th, 11:30am-1pm.
Lowcountry Orphan Relief: Lowcountry Orphan Relief provides support services and aid to meet the needs of Lowcountry children identified as at-risk or suffering from abandonment, abuse and/or neglect. Coastal will be serving there, Friday, February 9th, 9:30am-11:30am. Meet at 1850 Truxton Ave in North Charleston.
Double Tailgate Day: Meeting Street & Joseph Floyd Manor: Saturday, February 10th, 10:30am-1:30pm. Meet at the church and then pick which Tailgate you’d like to serve.
Soldier’s Angels: We’ll be helping with the Veteran’s Mobile Food Distribution, Tuesday, February 13th, 8am-1pm. Meet at 1113 Sam Rittenburg Blvd. (The Elks Lodge).

Start thinking now about what you’re going to give up to help prepare yourself and our church spiritually for Easter. Sign up on your Connect Card this Sunday to let us know that you will be participating in the fast.
And speaking of Easter, it comes early this year – Sunday, March 31st! Mark your calendars now, Coastal will be having 6 Easter Services over 3 days: Friday, March 29th, 7pm; Saturday, March 30th, 4:30pm, 6pm; Sunday, March 31st, 8:30am, 10am, 11:30am. Remember it’s all hands on deck! Sign up now to serve in multiple services! - Attention All Homeschool Families: We’re having a Valentines Homeschool Mingle on Friday, February 9th, 10am-12pm. There will be crafts, food (pizza), and fellowship – you’ll get to meet and hang out with other Homeschool families! This is not a drop-off event, but a time for the whole family. - If you’re fairly new to Coastal, a great next step is our Newcomers Reception. Our next Newcomers Reception is Sunday, February 25th, in our Chapel immediately following the 11:30am service (at approximately 12:45pm). This is a great way to learn more about Coastal, meet staff and key volunteers, as well as meet some other new people. Pizza and childcare provided. You can sign up on our website or on your Connect Card and indicate if you need childcare!
