I know I say this all the time, but I’m really excited about so many things coming up in the life of our church! First of all, next week is Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week over at Oakland Elementary School! Our church has something special planned each day next week – gifts, treats, and LOTS OF FOOD! It’s our way to celebrate and serve the heroes right across the street from our church. And all of it is made possible through your consistent, faithful generosity!
And then of course, we’ve got Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 12th! Mother’s Day is always a “BIG DAY” at our church! And when I say, “BIG DAY,” you should instinctively know what that means. It means you pull out all the stops and invite and bring your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers (pick up some of our Invite Cards)! We’re even adding extra chairs to make room for everyone! It means you come early, park far away, and go out of your way to make our guests feel welcome and at home. A BIG DAY also means, “all hands on deck” for our Volunteers! If you’re already serving on a LIFE Team, talk to your LIFE Team Leader, go to Planning Center, and sign up today! If you’re not serving, a big day like Mother’s Day is a perfect time to start. Sign up on our website today or on your Connect Card this Sunday! It really IS going to be a fun day! We have a special gift for all women (not just moms), a fun giveaway at the end of each service, a photo booth, Baby/Child Dedication during each service, and FREE Kona Ice for everyone!
That leads us right into June where we’ve got SUMMER OF IMPACT (the entire month of June – see below), “At the Movies” Sermon Series (starts June 9th), our Beach Baptism (June 9th – see below), Father’s Day (June 16th), Coastal Night of Worship (June 19th), and CSM Summer Camp(June 25-29). WHEW!! And then, of course, there is VBS and a Missions Trip to Peru! But that’s July and another Friday 5! I love you Coastal! I love being your Pastor! I love what we get to do together! And I can’t wait to see you on Sunday!

- UPCOMING OUTREACH PROJECTS:
Coffee & Doughnuts with the Vets at Patriot Villas – TODAY, Friday, May 3rd, 8:30am-11:30am. Meet at Coastal.
Clothing Team: Our Coastal Clothing Team will be organizing and sorting clothes, TODAY, Friday, May 3rd; Monday, May 6th; Friday, May 10th, 9:30am-11:30am. Meet at 2952 Old Pond Road on Johns Island.
Saturday Serve: The foundation of all of our serving opportunities at Coastal really starts with Saturday Serve – the first Saturday of every month. The next Saturday Serve is TOMORROW, Saturday, May 4th. We meet in the Welcome Center/Cafe at 8:30am, project leaders make a “pitch” for their serving opportunity, and then we serve!
Food Pantry Sort & Stock: Coastal feeds an enormous amount of people. Come to the church and help keep our Food Pantry organized (and have a lot of fun while you’re at it)! Thursday, May 9th, 11:30am-1pm.
Lowcountry Orphan Relief: Lowcountry Orphan Relief provides support services and aid to meet the needs of Lowcountry children identified as at-risk or suffering from abandonment, abuse and/or neglect. Coastal will be serving there, Friday, May 10th, 9:30am-11:30am. Meet at 1850 Truxton Ave in North Charleston.
Double Tailgate Day: Meeting Street & Joseph Floyd Manor: Saturday, May 11th, 10:30am-1:30pm. Meet at the church and then pick which Tailgate you’d like to serve.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Pastor Chris Jones at 843-870-4613. - RIVERDOGS GAME UPDATE: We have rescheduled our Coastal Day at the RiverDogs Game for Sunday, July 28th at 5pm. All tickets will need to be requested by texting the word “tickets” to 843-571-1777 and then filling out the form on the link you receive in return. No ticket requests from the previous game are being held. You must RE-request the number of tickets you would like.
- On Mother’s Day, May 12th, Coastal will celebrate all the women in our lives with fun giveaways, FREE Kona Ice for all ages, a family photo station, and Baby/Child Dedication in all 3 services. If you would like your child to participate in the Dedication Service, sign up on your Connect Card on Sunday. Include the child’s full name and the service you will be attending.
- We are planning our Annual BEACH BAPTISM out at Folly Beach County Park on Sunday, June 9th, at 5pm. You can sign up for it on our website. The only requirement for Baptism is that you have personally given your life to Jesus. Baptism is a public profession of your faith, and it’s a great celebration! It beautifully illustrates Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. If you’re unable to participate in our Beach Baptism, remember at Coastal we’re ready for you to get Baptized any service, any Sunday. If you are interested in getting Baptized, simply respond to this email, sign up on your Connect Card, or sign up on our website.
- Summer of IMPACT is now less than a month away! If you are fairly new to Coastal, Summer of IMPACT is a month-long effort (the entire month of June) where we as a church saturate our community with the love of Jesus through simple acts of service. It’s basically what we do all throughout the year, but MULTIPLIED during the month of June (58 different projects)! There is something for everyone (including children). There are opportunities nearly every day of the month. You simply sign-up and then show-up. It’s that easy. Every project has a leader and every project is well-organized.
So here’s what I am asking you to do RIGHT NOW:

And by the way, you don’t even have to call Coastal your home to participate! Invite and bring your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers to serve! If you are looking to make an IMPACT in our community, this is the way to do it!
