It truly was an AMAZING Easter weekend at Coastal.  I can’t thank our Staff and Volunteers enough for all your hard work.  I’m still blown away by all the people who were here, the friends, neighbors, family, and co-workers who were invited, and the stories of life change that I’ve been hearing about.  And like I said over the weekend, “We’re just getting started!”  God is definitely up to something here at Coastal, and I’m just humbled and honored to be a part of it.  I hope you are too!

This Sunday we’re kicking off a brand new series on the greatest sermon ever preached.  And no, it’s nothing me or any of our other Pastors have preached – haha!  It’s a sermon that Jesus Himself preached.  We typically refer to it as the Sermon on the Mount.  It’s the longest, continuous teaching of Jesus that we have.  It’s Jesus uncut and uncensored.  It’s found in Matthew chapters 5-7.  And while it’s only 3 chapters, we’re going to take our time, and make our way through it verse by verse, section by section.  Much like we did with the book of Romans, we’re going to start now, take a break during the Summer with our “At the Movies” and “Summer Reading” series, pick back up in the Fall, take a break during the Holidays, and then finish up in the beginning of the new year.  But this will be our major emphasis most of the next year.  In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus is essentially teaching us what it means to be His disciple, what it means to be His follower.  And that’s why I’m so excited about this series!  Do your best not to miss any of it, and as always, invite and bring someone with you!

Tomorrow is the first Saturday of the month – which can only mean one thing!  It’s Saturday Serve!  I hope you’ll join us – 8:30 am, at the church.  You’ll listen to our Project Leaders pitch all the different projects, choose a project you’re interested in, and then go out and serve!  It really is that simple and easy.  But that, in no way, describes the IMPACT you’ll make, and the blessing you’ll experience, being the hands, feet, and voice of Jesus right here in our community.  By the way, that describes something else that is just around the corner – Summer of IMPACT!  Summer of IMPACT is a month-long effort (the entire month of June) where we as a church saturate our community with the love of Jesus through simple acts of service.  It’s basically what we normally do all throughout the year, but MULTIPLIED during the month of June (58 different projects)!  There is something for everyone.  There are opportunities nearly every day of the month. You simply sign-up and then show-up.  It’s that easy.  Every project has a leader and every project is well-organized.  We unveiled our Summer of IMPACT calendar this past weekend.  You can start signing up for projects on May 1st!  I love you Coastal!  I love being your Pastor!  And I love what we get to do together!

LIFE & LOVE!
Pastor Chris
