THIS IS IT! THIS SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 8TH, IS THRIVE COMMITMENT SUNDAY! For the past nine weeks, we’ve been on an incredible journey of faith together. We’ve prayed, fasted, studied God’s Word, grown in our faith, and asked God what He would have us do as we prepare for the next chapter of Coastal’s story. And now, this Sunday, we get to take a HUGE step of faith together!
I love what Paul says in Philemon 1:6 (NLT), “And I am praying that you will put into action the generosity that comes from your faith as you understand and experience all the good things we have in Christ.” I love that! Put into action the generosity that comes from your faith! That’s exactly what we’re doing this Sunday. We’re taking everything God has been teaching us over these past nine weeks and putting our faith into action! And as we do, I believe we’re going to experience God’s goodness in ways we never imagined!
HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR SUNDAY:
1. Bring Your First Fruits Sacrificial Offering & 3-Year Commitment Card.
This Sunday, we’re asking everyone to bring their First Fruits Sacrificial Offering AND their completed 3-Year Thrive Commitment Card. You can give however you normally give, cash, check, Venmo, or online. Just make sure to designate your gift “Thrive.”
Need a Commitment Card? You can pick one up at the church this week or FILL OUT YOUR COMMITMENT CARD ONLINE. Going to be out of town Sunday? You can drop off your offering and card at the church this week or participate online. And remember, Equal Sacrifice, Not Equal Gifts! This has never been about the amount. It’s about obedience, faith, and EVERYONE doing their part. Every gift counts. Every card matters. And every single person has a part to play! If you’re planning to give stocks or other securities and need our brokerage account information, please contact us this week. And if you’re making a gift that way, please let us know it’s coming so we can properly account for it.
2. We’re Going to Do Something Different This Sunday!
Instead of passing offering buckets during our final song, we’re going to have a very special time of worship and commitment at the end of my message.
As the Worship Team leads us in worship, we’re going to invite everyone to come forward to the front of the stage, individuals, married couples, and entire families, to personally place their First Fruits Offering and 3-Year Commitment Card in the designated offering baskets. Even if you’ve already given online, bring your Commitment Card and participate in this special moment together! I believe this is going to be one of those Sundays we’ll remember for years to come!
3. Before We Give With Our Hands, Let’s Get On Our Knees!
Our 40-Day Fast concludes this Friday, November 6th. And before Commitment Sunday, we’re coming together for 24 HOURS OF PRAYER, beginning Thursday, November 5th at 7pm and ending Friday, November 6th at 7pm. If you haven’t signed up for a time slot yet, please do so today! We’re not just asking God to provide financially. We’re asking Him to move spiritually, to prepare our hearts, deepen our faith, and do something through Coastal that ONLY He can do!
4. Have Questions? We’re Here to Help!
If you have questions about your Commitment Card, how to give, or anything related to Thrive, please reach out to me or our Financial Manager, Juliann Sadler, at the church this week. We would love to help!
COASTAL, I CAN’T WAIT FOR SUNDAY!
I keep coming back to 2 Corinthians 9:11 (NIV), “You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.” That’s my prayer! That one day we’ll look back at this moment, see all the lives changed, the families reached, the children and students who came to know Jesus, and we’ll simply say, “LOOK WHAT GOD DID!”
Remember, buildings are simply tools. People are the mission. We’re making room for the ONE! I love you, Coastal. I love being your Pastor. And I love what God has called us to do together.
Let’s THRIVE!
