Woohoo! I’ve got GREAT NEWS! We just unveiled our 2025 Fall Semester LIFE Group Catalog! You’ll receive a hard copy on Sunday AND it’s available online too! And if we have your up to date contact information, you should even get one mailed to your home. Don’t worry, if you get more than one, simply share it with a friend. But we would love for you to go ahead and check out all of our different Groups (there’s something for everyone) and sign up to join a LIFE Group this semester (8-12 weeks)! By the way, our LIFE Groups are for everyone – whether you’re a member of our church, an occasional attender, or even if you’ve never attended on a Sunday. We’re called Coastal COMMUNITY Church and you (and your friends and family) are all a part of our community. There are all types of Groups – activity, women’s, men’s, support, marriage, Bible study, Young Adults, Senior Adults, and more!
By the way, not only can you view the catalog online, but you can sign up for a Group online (probably the best way to sign up)! Once you sign up for a group, your Group Leader will contact you before the semester begins. Unless otherwise stated in the catalog, all Groups begin the week of September 14th.
I also want to invite you to attend LIFE GROUP SUNDAY, on Sunday, September 7th, at Coastal! We have 3 services – 8:30am, 10am, & 11:30am. Before and after all 3 services you’ll be able to visit a table/booth representing each one of our 70+ different LIFE Groups (kind of like a Job/College Fair, but for Groups)! There will be snacks, you’ll be able to meet other people checking out all the Groups, meet the different Group Leaders, and ask any questions you might have. I promise it will be a great day and a lot of fun (there will even be FREE KONA ICE outside for everyone)! Hope to see you on Sunday! Start signing up for a LIFE Group today! I love you Coastal! - UPCOMING OUTREACH PROJECTS:
Downtown Charleston “Hotdog Ministry”: We will be grilling and serving hotdogs to the homeless and hungry downtown! TODAY, Friday, August 22nd; Friday, August 29th, 4pm-6pm. Meet at Coastal.
JFM Fellowship Activity & Devotion: A fun project for kids! We’ll serve at Joseph Floyd Manor (JFM), a public housing facility in Downtown Charleston, playing BINGO with the residents. Monday, August 25th, 1pm-2:30pm. Meet at JFM.
Brighton Place Fellowship Activity & Devotion: This project will allow us to spend some time with the residents and get to know them better through a lively game of Chair Volleyball, a meal, and devotion. Kid Friendly! Tuesday, August 26th, 1:30pm-3:30pm. Meet at: Brighton Place, 1429 Orleans Road.
Sewing Project: Sewing experience not required! Come and acquire a new skill while helping others in the community. This team of volunteers will work on zippered pouches, lap quilts, and blankets. Meet at Coastal on Wednesday, August 27th, 5pm-8pm.
Brighton Place Tailgate: We will be putting on a Tailgate for the Brighton Place community (here in West Ashley – near Citadel Mall) on Wednesday, August 27th, 6-8:30pm. Meet at Coastal.
Food Pantry Sort & Stock: Coastal feeds an enormous amount of people. Come to the church and help keep our Food Pantry organized (and have a lot of fun while you’re at it)! Thursday, August 28th, 11:30am-1pm.
Lowcountry Orphan Relief: Lowcountry Orphan Relief provides support services and aid to meet the needs of Lowcountry children identified as at-risk or suffering from abandonment, abuse and/or neglect. Coastal will be serving there Friday, August 29th, 9:30am-11:30am. Meet at 1850 Truxton Ave in North Charleston.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Pastor Chris Jones. - For the month of August, there has been a real push on finding a place to serve in the family here at Coastal on Sunday mornings. In fact, we’ve said, if you call Coastal your home, you should be able to answer this question, “What is my ministry and where am I serving on Sunday mornings?” This Sunday we’re highlighting our Cafe Team! For many years now, Matt & Kathy Beam have led this awesome group of volunteers who set a loving, generous, hospitable tone on our campus by providing coffee, snacks, and smiles – ALL FREE! If you’re interested in joining this amazing LIFE Team, you can sign up on your Connect Card on Sunday or go online and sign up today!

- Our Fall Volunteer Training for Coastal Kidz Volunteers is just around the corner! This time, our trainings are area-specific, so you will only attend the training that relates to you. Each training will be held after services from 12:45pm-2pm on their specific date.
If you serve in multiple areas, pick the area you serve in most.
If you are a buddy volunteer, pick the area you serve in most.
If you are a check-in volunteer, there is no training this time around.

P.S. Coastal Student Ministry (6th-12th Grade) Fall Kickoff will be Sunday, September 7th, 5:30pm-7pm (doors open at 5pm)! This is going to be a really fun night with open gym, food, games, and more! We invite your student to connect with other students and their adult leaders. We pray this night builds relationships that will last a lifetime! We hope to see your student there! REMIND THEM TO INVITE A FRIEND!
