So, have you signed up for a LIFE Group yet? If you haven’t heard, we unveiled our 2025 Spring Semester LIFE Group Catalog! And just like college, your favorite classes (LIFE Groups) will fill up fast! Some, in fact, have already reached capacity. So, go to our website right now, check out all the different Groups and sign up today. Most of our Groups start the week of February 23rd.
Now, I can already hear some of your excuses. And here is the biggest one of all. “But Pastor Chris, I just don’t have the time for a LIFE Group. I’m too busy.” Please hear this with all the love I can muster. You have time to do whatever it is you value – tv, social media, sports, hobbies. It’s just not that important to you yet. So, as we move into the New Year, think about what matters most in this life (your spiritual life, community), let that determine your values and priorities, and in turn let those values and priorities set or reset the habits and routines of your life. I promise, it’s a decision you won’t regret!
Next Sunday, February 16th, is LIFE GROUP SUNDAY! Before and after each service you’ll be able to check out all the Groups offered this semester, browse the tables in the Welcome Center representing those Groups, meet the different Group Leaders, enjoy some great snacks, and ask any questions you might have! It’s a BIG Day here at Coastal and a LOT of fun (there will even be FREE Kona Ice outside for everyone)! Invite and bring a friend and don’t miss it! I love you Coastal! I love being your Pastor! Clothing Team: Our Coastal Clothing Team will be organizing and sorting clothes, TODAY, Friday, February 7th; Monday, February 10th, 9:30am-11:30am. Meet at 2952 Old Pond Road on Johns Island.
Coffee & Doughnuts with the Vets at Patriot Villas: TODAY, Friday, February 7th, 8:30am-11:30am. Meet at Coastal.
Double Tailgate Day: Meeting Street & Joseph Floyd Manor: TOMORROW, Saturday, February 8th, 10:30am-1:30pm. Meet at the church and then pick which Tailgate you’d like to serve.
2nd Saturday/2nd Meal: TOMORROW, Saturday, February 8th, 9am-12noon. Come serve with us as we prepare a hot meal in the Coastal kitchen and then deliver those meals to one of our awesome ministry partners – organizations like Charleston Vets, S.C. Strong, Brighton Place, Joseph Floyd Manor and more!
Soldier’s Angels: We’ll be helping with the Veteran’s Mobile Food Distribution, Tuesday, February 11th, 8am-12:30pm. Meet at 1113 Sam Rittenburg Blvd. (The Elks Lodge).
Food Pantry Sort & Stock: Coastal feeds an enormous amount of people. Come to the church and help keep our Food Pantry organized (and have a lot of fun while you’re at it)! Thursday, February 13th, 11:30am-1pm.
Lowcountry Orphan Relief: Lowcountry Orphan Relief provides support services and aid to meet the needs of Lowcountry children identified as at-risk or suffering from abandonment, abuse and/or neglect. Coastal will be serving there, Friday, February 14th, 9:30am-11:30am. Meet at 1850 Truxton Ave in North Charleston.
Hollywood Free Laundry Day: Saturday, February 15th, 8am-11am join us out at “We Fold It” Laundromat as we provide FREE laundry service for the residents of Hollywood!

If you have any questions, please reach out to Pastor Chris Jones. - We’re excited that the 2nd Coastal Van is ready for the road! We’d love to send the van to Joseph Floyd Manor and Brighton Place to pick up those residents who’d like to come to church. The van departs from Coastal on Sunday morning at 8:30am so the residents at each facility can attend the 2nd worship service. The van then takes the residents home after the service. Volunteer drivers can sign up for either the pickup trip, the return trip or both. If you have a reasonably good driving record and are interested in a ride-along with one of the team’s drivers, reach out to Pastor Chris Jones at chrisjones@coastalcommunitychurch.org.
- Coastal Student Ministry is heading to Greenwood, SC, for a weekend conference designed to help students grow in their discipleship! It’s March 7-9 and the weekend’s theme, Blueprint, focuses on God’s design for our lives. Students will attend main sessions and choose two breakout sessions on specific topics. Our Students will stay in a hotel with rooming based on age and gender. The weekend will be full of learning and fun! They will leave Friday afternoon, attend Coastal’s 10am online service Sunday, grab lunch, and aim to be back in Charleston by 4 PM. The cost is $125, but financial assistance is available—money should never be a barrier! If you’d like to discuss payment options or a scholarship, feel free to email Jacob. Sign up online today!
- If you’re fairly new to Coastal, a great next step is our Newcomers Reception. This is a great way to learn more about Coastal, meet staff and key volunteers, as well as meet some other new people. Pizza and childcare provided. Our next Newcomers Reception is THIS Sunday, February 9th, in our Chapel immediately following the 11:30am service (at approximately 12:45pm). You can sign up on our website today.
- Interested in officially making the Coastal church family, your church family? Our next Membership Class is Saturday, February 15th, from 9am-12noon, in the Chapel. You can respond to this email, sign up on our website, or sign up on your Connect Card (let us know if you need childcare) on Sunday. Breakfast & childcare provided!
P.S. We’ve already had several Baptisms to start off the New Year! Maybe Baptism is your next step. Baptism is a way of “going public” with your faith. It beautifully illustrates the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. Jesus set the example for us and He commands His followers to do likewise.
