I want to personally invite you to sign up for our “Making An IMPACT” Evangelism Seminar on Sunday, March 1st, 5pm-8pm, in the Coastal Chapel – childcare and dinner provided. I’ll be honest with you, I hate including the word “Evangelism” in any kind of announcement about a training or seminar, not because I don’t believe in evangelism, but because of all the images and fear it sparks in people’s minds. So let me be clear, this is NOT about knocking on doors and asking people you don’t know, if they died tonight would they go to heaven or hell. This is not about standing on a street corner and preaching.
It’s about learning to share your own personal story and sharing your faith (how you became a Christian) with the people God puts in your life, where you live, work, parent, and play. It’s about learning the power of a simple invitation to a church that promises to partner with you and share the Good News of the Gospel. We simply believe that every Christian should have the confindence to do these things. And over time, if you’ve earned the right, built a relationship, prayed for the open door, all of us will have an opportunity to do just that. We just want you to feel empowered and confident to do so when the time arrives. That’s what this Seminar is all about.
And if you’ve taken it before, there’s nothing wrong with a little refresher. Plus, at Coastal, you know we’re going to have fun and feed you VERY well while doing it! I hope you’ll sign up! - UPCOMING OUTREACH PROJECTS:
Downtown Charleston “Hotdog Ministry”: We will be grilling and serving hotdogs to the homeless and hungry downtown! TODAY, Friday, February 27th, 4pm-6pm. Meet at Coastal.
Sewing Project: Sewing experience not required! Come and acquire a new skill while helping others in the community. This team of volunteers will work on zippered pouches, lap quilts, and blankets. Meet at Coastal on Wednesday, March 4th, 5pm-8pm.
Food Pantry Sort & Stock: Coastal feeds an enormous amount of people. Come to the church and help keep our Food Pantry organized (and have a lot of fun while you’re at it)! Thursday, March 5th, 11:30am-1pm.
Coffee & Doughnuts with the Vets at Patriot Villas: Join the team as we travel over to Patriot Villas, a veterans housing facility in North Charleston, to provide encouragement in the form of a fresh hot cup of Coastal coffee, a Krispy Kreme donut and community. We’ll spend the morning serving the veterans, fellowshipping, building relationships and thanking them for their service! Friday, March 6th, 8:30am-11:30am. Meet at Coastal.
Saturday Serve: The foundation of all of our serving opportunities at Coastal really starts with Saturday Serve – the first Saturday of every month. The next Saturday Serve is Saturday, March 7th. We meet in the Auditorium at 8:30am, Project Leaders make a “pitch” for their serving opportunity, and then we go out and serve!
Clothing Team: Come help sort & organize all the clothes we distribute! Monday, March 9th, 9:30am-11:30am. Meet at 2952 Old Pond Road on Johns Island.
Soldier’s Angels: We’ll be helping with the Veteran’s Mobile Food Distribution, Tuesday, March 10th, 8am-12pm. Meet at 1113 Sam Rittenburg Blvd. (The Elks Lodge).
Brighton Place Fellowship Activity & Devotion: This project will allow us to spend some time with the residents and get to know them better through a lively game of Chair Volleyball, a meal, and devotion. Kid Friendly! Tuesday, March 10th, 1:30pm-3pm. Meet at: Brighton Place, 1429 Orleans Road.

- LIFE Groups for this semester have just gotten started, however it’s still not too late to join one! While some Groups are full, there are still many that are not. Go to our website, check out all the different Groups and sign up today! You’ll be glad you did! As soon as you sign up, your LIFE Group leader will contact you with alll the information you need.
- Coastal will be having 7 Easter Services over 3 days: Friday, April 3rd, 7pm; Saturday, April 4th, 4:30pm, 6pm; Sunday, April 5th, 8am, 9:30am, 11am, 12:30pm. Remember it’s all hands on deck! Contact your LIFE Team Leader or go on Planning Center and sign up now to serve in multiple services! If you’ve never volunteered before, Easter weekend is a great time to start! Go to our website and sign up today! Our LIFE Team Leaders will follow up with you and get you started.
- Attention Young Adults! We’re having a Coastal Young Adults Camping Trip Friday, March 20th – Saturday, March 21st at James island County Park. There will be fireside devotionals, rock climbing, and a Saturday picnic by the water front. Don’t miss the fun! Invite someone to join us! P.S. Mark your calendars now – Coastal’s VBS is July 13th-17th, 6-8:15pm for children 4 years old – 5th Grade. This year’s theme is, “Rainforest Falls – Exploring the Nature of God!”
