It was another amazing Sunday at Coastal this past week! It was LIFE Group Sunday! We had 1403 people in-person, 1411 online, and 3 more Baptisms! I want to thank those of you who have been parking over at Oakland Elementary School (1st drive to the right after the Greenway BEFORE you get to our church) and those of you who shifted from the 10am service to either the 8:30am or the 11:30am service – please keep it up! It all enables our church to keep growing! And most importantly, I can’t thank all of our LIFE Group Leaders enough for all of their hard work and creativity! You guys “knocked it out of the park” once again! The excitement, fun, and enthusiasm in the room was palpable! Plus, are you ready for this? So far we’ve had over 1468 total signups for LIFE Groups! That’s AWESOME!
While some of our LIFE Groups are already full, many are not. So go to our website, check out the catalog, and sign up for a LIFE Group today! Once you sign up for a LIFE Group, your Group Leader will contact you with all the important information. Most LIFE Groups begin THIS coming week. I know Easter sounds like a long way away, but it’s not. It actually comes earlier this year. Easter Sunday is April 5th! The big push between now and Easter Weekend will be Volunteers! So, reach out to your LIFE Team Leader and start signing up to serve on Planning Center now. Coastal will be having 7 identical Easter Services over 3 days: Friday, April 3rd, 7pm; Saturday, April 4th, 4:30pm, 6pm; Sunday, April 5th, 8am, 9:30am, 11am, 12:30pm (please make note of the service time changes on Sunday).
Remember Easter is all hands on deck! Sign up now to serve in multiple services! Last year our goal was to have over 3000 people in person and over 2000 online. We reached both of those with 3055 in person and 2105 online! I honestly don’t know what this year holds, but I feel like we can beat both of those numbers. Start praying now for the people you will be inviting and for the people the church will be reaching out to through all of our advertising. Sign up now for our Impact Evangelism Seminar, Sunday, March 1st, 5pm-8pm. You’ll learn how to confidently and naturally share your story, share your faith, and invite your friends to church. - UPCOMING OUTREACH PROJECTS:
Clothing Team: Come help sort & organize all the clothes we distribute! TODAY, Friday, February 13th; Monday, February 16th, 9:30am-11:30am. Meet at 2952 Old Pond Road on Johns Island.
NHC Fellowship & Activity: Those in skilled-nursing centers are arguably some of the most neglected people in our society. Many in these facilities rarely, if ever, receive visitors. The hope of this project is to send a reminder to the residents of the facility, in which we are serving, that they are not alone. This kid-friendly project will consist of loving on the staff and residents through words of encouragement, quality time and hot chocolate! This project is a great way to serve those who are always in need of a little extra love! TODAY, Friday, February 13th, 10am-12pm. Meet at: NHC Skilled Nursing Facility, 2230 Ashley Crossing Dr, Charleston, SC 29414.
2nd Saturday Meal: Saturday, February 14th, 9am-11am. Come serve with us as we prepare a hot meal in the Coastal kitchen and then deliver those meals to one of our awesome ministry partners – organizations like Charleston Vets, S.C. Strong, Brighton Place, Joseph Floyd Manor and more!
Double Tailgate Day – Meeting Street & Joseph Floyd Manor: Saturday, February 14th, 10:30am-1:30pm. Meet at the church and then pick which Tailgate you’d like to serve.
Hope Center Tailgate: The Hope Center, managed by the city of Charleston, serves as a one-stop shop in downtown Charleston to assist those who are homeless or who are at-risk of being homeless. We’re sending a Tailgate Team to serve dinner to anyone who is hungry. Meet at Coastal on Tuesday, February 17th, 12pm-3pm.
VA Hospitality Project: This team serves at the VA Hospital in Charleston by providing a hospitality cart, greeting incoming patients and employees, visiting patients, and helping Volunteer Services with small sorting projects. Wednesday, February 18th, 8:30am-11:30am. Meet at Coastal.
Sewing Project: Sewing experience not required! Come and acquire a new skill while helping others in the community. This team of volunteers will work on zippered pouches, lap quilts, and blankets. Meet at Coastal on Wednesday, February 18th, 5pm-8pm.
Patriot Villas Veterans Tailgate: We will be putting on a Tailgate for the Veterans at Patriot Villas on Wednesday, February 18th, 6-8:30pm. Meet at Coastal.
Food Pantry Sort & Stock: Coastal feeds an enormous amount of people. Come to the church and help keep our Food Pantry organized (and have a lot of fun while you’re at it)! Thursday, February 19th, 11:30am-1pm.
Coffee & Doughnuts with the Vets at Patriot Villas: Join the team as we travel over to Patriot Villas, a veterans housing facility in North Charleston, to provide encouragement in the form of a fresh hot cup of Coastal coffee, a Krispy Kreme donut and community. We’ll spend the morning serving the veterans, fellowshipping, building relationships and thanking them for their service! Friday, February 20th, 8:30am-11:30am. Meet at Coastal.
Kid Friendly Blessing Bag Packing Party: Equipping the future of our church, we will be hosting a Kid-Friendly Clothing Night! This project is designed to get our youngest members involved and understanding what our amazing clothing ministry really does for the people of Charleston. This is a great project for families to do together, serving alongside each other, packing and prepping our clothes to be handed out at Clothing Distributions, Tailgates and more! Friday, February 20th, 6pm-7:30pm. Meet at Coastal.
Ronald McDonald House Meals that Heal – Breakfast: Ronald McDonald House provides a “Home-away-from-home” where families stay while their children undergo extensive medical treatment. The Meals that Heal program provides a much-needed support service to families taking care of their sick children, who often don’t have the time, funds, or energy to prepare a healthy, home-cooked meal. Ages 16+. Saturday, February 21st, 7:30am-9:15am. Meet at: 81 Gadsden St, Chas (Downtown Charleston).

- If you’re fairly new to Coastal, a great next step is our Newcomers Reception. Our next Newcomers Reception is Sunday, February 22nd, in our Chapel immediately following the 11:30am service (rescheduled from Sunday, February 1st). This is a great way to learn more about Coastal, meet staff and key volunteers, as well as meet some other new people. Pizza and childcare provided. You can sign up on our website today!
- Coastal’s Annual 40 Day Easter Fast begins Monday, February 23rd, and goes through Friday, April 3rd! Start thinking now about what you’re going to give up to help prepare yourself and our church spiritually for Easter. Sign up on your Connect Card this Sunday to let us know that you will be participating in the fast.
