Woohoo! I’ve got GREAT NEWS! We just unveiled our 2024 Spring Semester LIFE Group Catalog! You’ll receive a hard copy on Sunday AND it’s available online too! You’ll probably even get one mailed to your home. Don’t worry, if you get more than one, simply share it with a friend. But we would love for you to go ahead and check out all of our different Groups (there’s something for everyone) and sign up to join a LIFE Group this semester (8-12 weeks)! By the way, our LIFE Groups are for everyone – whether you’re a member of our church, an occasional attender, or even if you’ve never attended on a Sunday. We’re called Coastal COMMUNITY Church and you (and your friends and family) are all a part of our community. There are all types of Groups – activity, women’s, men’s, support, marriage, Bible study, Young Adults, Senior Adults, and more!
By the way, not only can you view the catalog online, but you can sign up for a Group online (probably the best way to sign up)! Once you sign up for a group, your Group Leader will contact you before the semester begins. Unless otherwise stated in the catalog, all Groups begin the week of February 23rd.
I also want to invite you to attend LIFE GROUP SUNDAY, on Sunday, February 16th, at Coastal! We have 3 services – 8:30am, 10am, & 11:30am. Before and after all 3 services you’ll be able to visit a table/booth representing each one of our 60+ different LIFE Groups (kind of like a Job/College Fair, but for Groups)! There will be snacks, you’ll be able to meet other people checking out all the Groups, meet the different Group Leaders, and ask any questions you might have. I promise it will be a great day and a lot of fun (there will even be FREE KONA ICE outside for everyone)! Hope to see you on Sunday! Start signing up for a LIFE Group today!

- UPCOMING OUTREACH PROJECTS:
Clothing Team: Our Coastal Clothing Team will be organizing and sorting clothes, TODAY, Friday, January 31st; Monday, February 3rd; Friday, February 7th; Monday, February 10th, 9:30am-11:30am. Meet at 2952 Old Pond Road on Johns Island.
Downtown Charleston “Hotdog Ministry”: We will be grilling and serving hotdogs to the homeless and hungry downtown! TODAY, Friday, January 31st, 4-6:30pm. Meet at Coastal.
Saturday Serve: The foundation of all of our serving opportunities at Coastal really starts with Saturday Serve – the first Saturday of every month. The next Saturday Serve is TOMORROW, Saturday, February 1st. We meet in the Auditorium at 8:30am, Project Leaders make a “pitch” for their serving opportunity, and then we go out and serve!
Food Pantry Sort & Stock: Coastal feeds an enormous amount of people. Come to the church and help keep our Food Pantry organized (and have a lot of fun while you’re at it)! Thursday, February 6th; Thursday, February 13th, 11:30am-1pm.
Coffee & Doughnuts with the Vets at Patriot Villas: Friday, February 7th, 8:30am-11:30am. Meet at Coastal.
Double Tailgate Day: Meeting Street & Joseph Floyd Manor: Saturday, February 8th, 10:30am-1:30pm. Meet at the church and then pick which Tailgate you’d like to serve.
2nd Saturday/2nd Meal: Saturday, February 8th, 9am-12noon. Come serve with us as we prepare a hot meal in the Coastal kitchen and then deliver those meals to one of our awesome ministry partners – organizations like Charleston Vets, S.C. Strong, Brighton Place, Joseph Floyd Manor and more!
Soldier’s Angels: We’ll be helping with the Veteran’s Mobile Food Distribution, Tuesday, February 11th, 8am-12:30pm. Meet at 1113 Sam Rittenburg Blvd. (The Elks Lodge).

If you have any questions, please reach out to Pastor Chris Jones. - We’re excited that the 2nd Coastal Van is ready for the road! We’d love to send the van to Joseph Floyd Manor and Brighton Place to pick up those residents who’d like to come to church. The van departs from Coastal on Sunday morning at 8:30am so the residents at each facility can attend the 2nd worship service. The van then takes the residents home after the service. Volunteer drivers can sign up for either the pickup trip, the return trip or both. If you have a reasonably good driving record and are interested in a ride-along with one of the team’s drivers, reach out to Pastor Chris Jones at chrisjones@coastalcommunitychurch.org.

- Coastal Young Adults had an AMAZING kick-off to their new Weekly Streaming of “The Porch” this past Monday night! If you are in your 20’s or early 30’s YOU are invited! It’s a great evening of worship, fellowship, teaching, small group discussion, and great fun! They meet every Monday night, 6:30pm-8:30pm in the Coastal Chapel! – Newcomer’s Reception: If you’re fairly new to Coastal, a great next step is our Newcomers Reception. This is a great way to learn more about Coastal, meet staff and key volunteers, as well as meet some other new people. Pizza and childcare provided. Our next Newcomers Reception is Sunday, February 9th, in our Chapel immediately following the 11:30am service (at approximately 12:45pm). You can sign up on our website today.
