It was another amazing Sunday at Coastal this past week! It was LIFE Group Sunday! We had 1305 people in-person, 974 online, and 1 more Baptism! I want to thank those of you who have been parking over at Oakland Elementary School (1st drive to the right after the Greenway BEFORE you get to our church) and those of you who shifted from the 10am service to either the 8:30am or the 11:30am service – please keep it up! It all enables our church to keep growing! And most importantly, I can’t thank all of our LIFE Group Leaders enough for all of their hard work and creativity! You guys “knocked it out of the park”! The excitement, fun, and enthusiasm in the room was palpable! Plus, are you ready for this? So far we’ve had over 1066 total signups for LIFE Groups! That’s AWESOME!
While some of our LIFE Groups are already full, many are not. So go to our website, check out the catalog, and sign up for a LIFE Group today! Once you sign up for a LIFE Group, your Group Leader will contact you with all the important information. Most LIFE Groups begin THIS coming week. The big push between now and Easter Weekend will be Volunteers! So, reach out to your LIFE Team Leader and start signing up to serve on Planning Center now. Easter Sunday is April 20th! Coastal will be having 7 identical Easter Services over 3 days: Friday, April 18th, 7pm; Saturday, April 19th, 4:30pm, 6pm; Sunday, April 20th, 8:30am, 10am, 11:30am, 1pm. Remember it’s all hands on deck! Sign up now to serve in multiple services! Our goal this year is to have over 3000 people in person over Easter Weekend (last year we had 2541)! Start praying now for the people you will be inviting and for the people the church will be reaching out to through all of our advertising. We’ve got two more messages in our series on the Sermon on the Mount – this Sunday and next Sunday. This week I’ll be talking about some of the most terrifying words ever spoken by Jesus. It’s found in Matthew 7:21-23. Take a look at it before this Sunday. I love you Coastal! I’ve love getting to serve alongside you as your Pastor! And I love what God has called us to do together – sharing the life and love of Jesus with Charleston and the world!

Coffee & Doughnuts with the Vets at Patriot Villas: TODAY, Friday, February 21st, 8:30am-11:30am. Meet at Coastal.
Brighton Place Tailgate: We will be putting on a Tailgate for the Brighton Place community (here in West Ashley – near Citadel Mall) on Wednesday, February 26th, 6-8:30pm. Meet at Coastal.
Food Pantry Sort & Stock: Coastal feeds an enormous amount of people. Come to the church and help keep our Food Pantry organized (and have a lot of fun while you’re at it)! Thursday, February 27th, 11:30am-1pm.
Lowcountry Orphan Relief: Lowcountry Orphan Relief provides support services and aid to meet the needs of Lowcountry children identified as at-risk or suffering from abandonment, abuse and/or neglect. Coastal will be serving there, Friday, February 28th, 9:30am-11:30am. Meet at 1850 Truxton Ave in North Charleston.
Clothing Team: Our Coastal Clothing Team will be organizing and sorting clothes, Friday, February 28th, 9:30am-11:30am. Meet at 2952 Old Pond Road on Johns Island.
Downtown Charleston “Hotdog Ministry”: We will be grilling and serving hotdogs to the homeless and hungry downtown! Friday, February 28th, 4-6:30pm. Meet at Coastal.
Saturday Serve: The foundation of all of our serving opportunities at Coastal really starts with Saturday Serve – the first Saturday of every month. The next Saturday Serve is Saturday, March 1st. We meet in the Auditorium at 8:30am, Project Leaders make a “pitch” for their serving opportunity, and then we go out and serve!

Start thinking now about what you’re going to give up to help prepare yourself and our church spiritually for Easter. - Coastal is looking to hire an Administrative Assistant. This would be a part time, hourly position – approximately 31 hours a week, Monday-Thursday, 9am-4pm, Sundays 10am-1pm. This person would work closely with Rachel Speer, supporting our Pastors and Staff, and managing our office reception area. - If you’re fairly new to Coastal, a great next step is our Newcomers Reception. This is a great way to learn more about Coastal, meet staff and key volunteers, as well as meet some other new people. Pizza and childcare provided. Our next Newcomers Reception is Sunday, April 6th, in our Chapel immediately following the 11:30am service (at approximately 12:45pm). P.S. Coastal Community Church’s Internship Program is an eight-week, Summer Ministry experience designed to give participants a glimpse into life in ministry. Passionate & gifted participants will gain valuable experience while working alongside Coastal staff members in areas of Administration, Outreach, Worship Arts, Production & Communications, Children’s, or Student Ministries. We will accept mature, older High School Students, but we are mainly looking for College Students and/or young adults. If you’re interested in providing housing for out of state interns, please reach out to rachel@coastalcommunitychurch.org.
